GPL Grand Final and the year that was

… Sorry for the delay.. completely forgot that this was on!
Thought it might have been next week.
Turns out the Purple Bobcats won! whoo hoo cheer.. YAY… but really lets talk about 3rd vs 4th battle.

Now on to the big announcement… The Purple bobcats!!! PREMIERS!!! and yep in true bobcat form they decided to have 145 points… zzzzzzzzz STANDARD
The paws were not up to the challence of the clawing bobcats although a very healthy 138 points.
A surge from 5th spot in rd 13 to never have been in the top 4, to win their last 3 matches to take the top spot!!! A year of the underdogs it has shaped to be in all major sporting codes.

BUT THE REAL story of the week… The Bobcats have officially requested a name and logo change for 2017 to defend their reign.. Let us know what you think??

Good work Bobcats… no one can take it away from you… a lot can say you weren’t the best team all year but even I will stand up and only agree slightly with them!!!!

Premiers the Purple HOUSE will receive a Premiers 2016 Cap, Premiers 2016 Team Shirt and a mug that will be perpetual (and engraved with team name and year). The mugs will be able to place in front of any other GPL player at GPL rounds in 2017 and request it to be filled at the other teams charge. (don’t panic, each player can only fill once per players request – yes I am sure I will cop it !)

Removing all sarcasm and smart ass remarks.. (I know its hard to do that when you’re reading my taunts)

I want to THANK YOU all for being apart of this. It has been something that Craig Sullivan-Brook had flagged we should do as he and I had witnessed its benefits from the Royal Adelaide Golf Club League…  and it was always with doubt that it would work here. However we knew it would IF done right and IF played in the spirit of the TEAM it would…. I do hope I have given it some life!
No matter the attempts of me however that life wouldn’t be possible if it was not for YOU participating and showing what true club spirit is! Fun, laughter, enjoyment and feeling apart of something!
The GPL has given this club this and I thank you all for breathing life into my journey.

2017 is coming and will be announced very soon. For those who wish to participate again, please speak to your captain and get them to relay. For new players please understand that teams ARE FULL and if there are enough people wanting to participate we can include new teams so please provide feedback and we will make it bigger and better for 2017!
