Sandy Creek Golf Club was announced as the 2024 Club of the Year at the SA Golf Industry Awards night, held on Saturday, October 19th at the Hilton Adelaide.
The South Australian Golf Industry Awards Night is an industry initiative between Golf Australia (SA), the PGA Southern Division, Golf Management Australia (SA) and the South Australian Golf Course Superintendents Association. It is an annual celebration to recognise achievements and contributions to the game of golf in South Australia.
The Club of the Year award was judged based on the following criteria: Membership retention and growth, Golf Program and Pathway Development, Financial Performance, Governance, Clubhouse Operations, Golf Course Operations and the Women in Golf Charter.
Sandy Creek was recognised, amongst other things, for its strong membership growth (up 33% from October 2023-September 2024), continued positive financial performance, improvement in course condition and its promotion of golf to local schools.
Club President, Susan Keylock, accepted the award on behalf of the Club and in her speech, thanked the team of volunteers for giving so freely of their time and expertise, the committee for their leadership, Golf Australia for their support and Luke Partridge from Nuturf for his guidance in turf management.
